Importance of Calibration
Commercial scale
Commercial scales such as price computing scales, barcode label printing scales etc… are more frequently used by merchants for direct sales to customers. These scales are controlled and regulated according to the laws in force by the LMS (Legal Metrology Services) and are recognized by a tag or a label issued, placed and controlled by the officers of LMS.
The commercial scales used by fruit, vegetable merchants etc in our markets are generally transported from place to place every day and transport can affect their stability.
It is important that these scales be cleaned, serviced and calibrated regularly by specialized companies with LMS approved test weights to detect and remedy faults due to normal wear and tear on the scale.
Industrial scale
Industrial type scales are made sturdy to last over time as they are more heavily used than commercial scales and are used more by factory workers than their buyers. And therefore unfortunately mishandle in most cases even if it is not intentional.
Calibration is not only necessary but mandatory because any loss of calibration even of a few grams would cause losses in terms of profitability for any company. This is why we recommend a maintenance agreement or a regular verification on a case to case basics of your scales in order to detect faults linked to normal wear & tear or misuse.
- Condition of sale
These Terms of Sale constitute the entire agreement between SSWIM SALES LTD (hereinafter referred to as SSL) and the customer.
In the event that any order or acceptance of the customer or any quote issued by SSL, would aim to stipulate conditions contrary to these conditions, these will determine and regulate in all cases the contract unless a derogation from these conditions is committed in writing and expressly accepted by SSL.- Customer order – No order or acceptance of quotes regarding the services offered shall be binding on SSL until it has been accepted in writing by SSL.
- Delivery -The product(s) ordered through PO (Purchase Order) will be delivered directly to THE CUSTOMER at the address provided on the PO by SSL and will be verified by THE CUSTOMER. The delivery method will be carried out by SSL at no additional cost to THE CUSTOMER.
- Programming and Installation – Installation and programming will be carried by SSL on the site approved by THE CUSTOMER at no additional cost and training provided to the user(s) designated THE CUSTOMER.
- Claims – THE CUSTOMER’S failure to give notice of any claim within 15 days from the date of delivery will constitute an unqualified acceptance of the GOODS and a waiver by THE CUSTOMER of all claims with respect to the GOODS.
- Ownership – The products delivered remain the property of SSL until full payment of the invoice by the customer.
- Payment – All payments are due and payable to SSL by THE CUSTOMER upon delivery of the product(s) unless a credit agreement in writing has been agreed and the method of payment stipulated on the invoice.
- Warranties – Products ARE SOLD ‘NEW’ AND SSL WILL COVER FOR NEW PRODUCT(S) A FACTORY WARRANTY OF 1 (ONE) YEAR. SSL does not assume , or authorize any other person to assume on the behalf of SSL, any repairs during the WARRANTY PERIOD.
- THE CUSTOMER shall be given the opportunity to inspect the GOODS (Products) or to have it inspected and THE CUSTOMER has accept the goods in its existing condition. Further, SSL disclaims any warranty as to the condition of the GOODS after verification by both parties.
